About the role

  • Own day-to-day accounting operations across the US, Canada, and Germany, including GL, AP/AR, payroll, and expense management.
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close and consolidations.
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP and local statutory requirements, oversee tax filings, and manage relationships with external accountants, payroll providers, and other partners.
  • Deliver timely financial statements, management reports, and KPI dashboards for the CEO and leadership team.
  • Support company-wide planning and forecasting for headcount, budgets, and expenses.
  • Partner with business leaders to provide financial insights, scenario modeling, and analysis that inform strategic decisions.
  • Build scalable policies, processes, and tools to support a growing workforce.
  • Oversee coordination with HR and payroll providers to ensure smooth onboarding, payroll, and benefits administration.
  • Provide lightweight people operations support and contribute to company-wide initiatives that intersect with finance, operations, and people management.
  • Implement and optimize financial systems and tools to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and reporting workflows.
  • Drive automation of recurring finance and operational tasks to free up capacity for strategic work.
  • Act as the senior-most finance leader in the organization, reporting directly to the CEO.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, ideally including both public accounting and within a fast-moving, dynamic environment.
  • CPA (or equivalent) strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP; familiarity with Canadian and German statutory accounting a plus.
  • Demonstrated success managing multi-entity, multi-currency accounting operations.
  • Experience supporting FP&A, budgeting, and KPI reporting in a scaling company.
  • Exposure to SaaS revenue recognition and enterprise B2B business models.
  • Proven ability to implement scalable systems, processes, and internal controls.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to partner across functions and act as a trusted advisor to executives.
  • Hands-on, proactive, and comfortable balancing tactical work with strategic initiatives.
