About the role
- Supervise and manage Paradigm’s suite of comments to regulatory agencies on all key rulemakings and requests for comment, including at the SEC, CFTC, prudential regulators, and FCC.
- Monitor key regulatory developments in the U.S. relevant to crypto and other nascent technologies and advise firm on the same.
- Develop and execute on novel regulatory approaches that further the mission and goals of crypto, from white papers to slide decks.
- Assist with Paradigm’s filing of amicus briefs in federal and state-level litigation relevant to crypto.
- Partner closely with legal and investment/research on cross-functional initiatives.
- Advise and guide portfolio company founders and Paradigm’s investment and research teams on critical policy issues.
- Report to Paradigm’s VP of Regulatory Affairs, Justin Slaughter.

- 5+ years of litigation or white-collar corporate work, whether in a large law firm or in-house in a litigation department, including on matters related to AML and sanctions.
- Deep experience in financial services or technology policy, with an emphasis on crypto/securities/commodities regulation, its adjacent technologies, and/or the challenges facing high-growth startups in Washington, DC.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial or technology policy topics into easy-to-understand framing for policymakers and other key Washington, DC stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of the various trade-offs between different regulatory approaches, including regarding centralization, security, privacy, and democratization, and a vision on how to support the best possible regulatory regime for crypto.
- Onchain experience using crypto applications, including but not limited to DeFi.
