About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage active and potential litigation, including evaluating claims, recommending legal strategies, coordinating internal stakeholders, and monitoring deadlines and outcomes.
Select, retain, and manage outside counsel, consultants, and other legal services providers.
Monitor litigation budgets and ensure outside counsel provides effective and cost-conscious representation.
Identify legal and regulatory risks and recommend practical solutions that support business operations.
Support compliance with governmental trade regulations, sanctions, licensing requirements, consumer protection laws, privacy regulations, and other applicable requirements.
Research changing laws and regulations and translating legal requirements into clear guidance for employees and business leaders.
Review and respond to escalated customer complaints, disputes, and matters submitted to governmental, regulatory, or consumer organizations.
Partner with internal teams to develop fair, practical, and legally sound resolutions to customer issues.
Draft, review, negotiate, and manage commercial contracts and business agreements.
Provide legal guidance involving corporate governance, employment matters, privacy, intellectual property, real estate, and general business operations.
Conduct legal research and prepare written recommendations, opinions, and guidance for management.
Assist with maintaining corporate entities, licenses, resolutions, operating agreements, and legal records.
Support the development and improvement of company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Handle confidential and sensitive matters with discretion and sound judgment.

Requirements

What you’ll need

J.D. from an accredited law school.
Active admission and good standing with a U.S. state bar.
Experience supporting litigation, dispute resolution, risk management, regulatory compliance.
Strong legal research, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage responsibilities independently while working collaboratively with a broader team.
Strong customer-service mindset and the ability to build productive relationships across an organization.
Practical judgment and the ability to balance legal risk with customer and business needs.
Ability to manage competing priorities and respond effectively in fast-moving or ambiguous situations.
Willingness to obtain bar admission in Florida, Oregon, California, Texas, or Delaware if required.
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
