About the role
- Prepare technical reports, studies, and documentation using tools such as MS Office Suite.
- Direct and review the work of engineering technicians to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative engineering solutions.
- Assist in the design and preparation of plans for commercial, residential, and site development projects, such as roads, bridges, water supply networks, sewage systems, and public parks
- Analyze design alternatives to address site constraints and meet client objectives – keeping time and budget priority
- Collaborate on permitting and regulatory compliance for site development projects.
- Assist in the design, planning, and preparation of construction drawings, technical specifications, and cost estimates for new municipal infrastructure projects.
- Support the planning, analysis, and design of water, wastewater, drainage, and transportation systems.
- Prepare reports, calculations, and presentations for internal use and public meetings.
- Coordinate with internal departments (architects, urban planners, and construction managers, etc.), utility companies, contractors, and regulatory agencies to coordinate projects and ensure compliance with local regulations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited program.
- 1–5 years of professional civil engineering experience
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar design tools.
- Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, hydrology, and municipal infrastructure systems.
- EIT certification or ability to obtain within 12 months from start date.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of engineering principles, techniques, and procedures.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Reliability and dependability.
- Ability to work Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm with overtime as needed.
