About the role

  • The Principal Data Architect is responsible for setting and enforcing standards for data ingestion, data governance, deployment principles, environment scalability and performance, design requirements, coding standards, and implementation rules.
  • Establishes and maintains standards for data ingestion, data governance, deployment, scalability, performance, design requirements, coding, and implementation.
  • Evaluates and recommends technology solutions to meet current and future business needs.
  • Partners with business stakeholders to build technology strategy and roadmap.
  • Mentors and guides the development team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure data architecture supports business objectives and compliance requirements.
  • Oversees the design and implementation of robust, scalable, and secure data environments.
  • Ensures best practices in data security, privacy, and compliance are integrated into all data solutions.
  • Stays current with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation within the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or related roles.
  • Proven expertise in data governance, data modeling, and large-scale data environment design.
  • Strong experience with modern data platforms, cloud technologies, and data integration tools.(i.e. Databricks, Snowflake, Python, Azure, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to set technical standards and mentor development teams.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
