About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, implement, and test software solutions for K-12 schools’ learning environments
- Design, implement, and test RESTful web services using NodeJS, Google Apps Script, and Postman
- Build, host, and maintain application environments using Amazon Web Services
- Maintain source code repositories and branching/merging strategies with Git
- Analyze and resolve technical and application problems
- Provide troubleshooting support for production issues and code deployment activities
- Contribute to user interface design and development
- Collaborate with developers, testers, product owners, enrollment teams, development teams, school staff, administrators, vendors, and operational teams
- Administer SIS, LMS, Canvas, and third-party integrations for existing and new schools
- Coordinate day-to-day systems operations, maintenance, application updates, and school-year rollovers
- Identify complex data mappings within the learning ecosystem
- Coordinate vendor maintenance impacts and communicate with affected parties
- Support projects, data requests, automation, and custom reports
- Create documentation and provide corporate training
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical or electronics engineering, Information Systems, Systems Engineering, or equivalent degree
- Experience administering complex systems and integrations such as Canvas LMS, SIS, and Clever Integrations
- Strong technical aptitude to learn new systems, processes, and backend reporting
- Experience developing open standards-based web services, web applications, and modern user interfaces
- Significant, demonstrable experience implementing features across software development teams and environments
- Ability to design, write, edit, modify, and debug code focused on automating manual tasks
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Understanding of relational databases and proficiency with SQL
- Experience with message queue technology and design patterns
- 3+ years of experience with NodeJS
- 3+ years of experience with JavaScript
- Familiarity with AWS services including S3, Lambda, SNS, SQS, EC2, CloudFront, and Redshift
- Experience with the Amazon Web Services API
- Experience with Git version control
- Experience with Unix/Linux environments
- Experience with ticket tracking and resolving issues for end users
- Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks (FBI/BCI)
