Lead Product Designer

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Shape and evolve core product experiences: Lead design efforts across new and existing product areas, creating experiences for educators and students that connect them with Panorama's data and insights and deliver immediate, meaningful value.
- Design AI-powered and AI-assisted experiences: Define AI-native features and design systems for human-agent collaboration, focusing on interaction models, workflows, and user experiences.
- Contribute to and evolve the design system: Define new components, design tokens, interaction patterns, and documentation; build production-ready accessible components with engineering; drive adoption and patterns for AI-native interactions across multiple products.
- Raise the bar on craft for the team: Lead by example through strong visual design, interaction design, and prototyping. Give thoughtful feedback, mentor designers, and help build a culture of high standards and continuous learning.
- Champion accessibility and inclusive design: Build WCAG 2.2 AA compliance into your process from the start. For Panorama, accessibility isn't a checklist, it's a reflection of our commitment to equitable tools for every educator.
- Lead discovery and research: Partner with Product to run user interviews, usability tests, and synthesis sessions, keeping educator and student needs at the center of product decisions.
- Communicate with clarity and conviction: Present design strategy and rationale to cross-functional stakeholders and senior leadership, articulating trade-offs and advocating for design decisions with evidence.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years of Product Design experience, ideally in a B2B SaaS environment. K–12 edtech experience is a plus
- A portfolio demonstrating strong design craft, end-to-end product thinking, and systems-level reasoning
- Hands-on AI design experience: you've shipped AI-powered or AI-assisted features, see AI as a partner in creativity and efficiency, and have an evolving point of view on design's role in AI, automation, and emerging technologies
- Data visualization expertise: you turn complex, multi-layered data into clear, actionable insight for users across varying levels of data literacy
- Accessibility expertise: working knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA, built into your process from the start
- A natural mentor who raises the bar through feedback, knowledge sharing, and ongoing experimentation
- A genuine belief that well-designed tools can advance equity and improve outcomes for students
