About the role

  • Raise and maintain design quality across core product experiences
  • Lead, structure, and scale a team of ~13 (including managers)
  • Define org structure, staffing, and hiring priorities
  • Coach and grow design talent at all levels
  • Partner tightly with Product and Engineering leadership to influence strategy and roadmap
  • Balance short-term delivery with long-term bets
  • Drive cross-business-unit collaboration and alignment
  • Support program management of key initiatives to ensure delivery

Requirements

  • 8–10+ years in product design, with 5+ years in leadership/management
  • Preference for experience managing managers (not just ICs)
  • Background in B2B SaaS (or B2C SaaS with transferable depth); experience in scale-ups or big tech a plus
  • Strong foundation in design craft with excellent taste and standards
  • Strategic thinker who can operate at both vision and execution levels
  • Collaborative, structured, and decisive leadership style
  • Highly accountable and proactive that thrives without hand-holding
  • Track record as a culture builder who uplifts teams and organisations
  • Shown interest in leveraging AI in design
  • Strong people manager with good product taste that can be hands-on on design direction to ensure high output quality
