About the role
- Own the integrity of financial statements, ensuring flawless GAAP compliance
- Direct month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Transform complex financial data into actionable insights for leadership decision-making
- Mentor and inspire an accounting team of three professionals
- Collaborate with the Controller to resolve sophisticated accounting and tax challenges
- Ensure donor contributions are recognized with accuracy and gratitude
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (CPA required)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with significant nonprofit exposure
- Deep expertise in GAAP, fund accounting, and grant compliance
- Proven track record of managing month/quarter/year-end close processes
- Experience leading, mentoring, and developing accounting teams
- Mastery of accounts payable, receivable, bank reconciliations, and revenue recognition
