About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver care to patients admitted to the nursing unit under the direction of the RN, Nurse Manager, or Charge Nurse
  • Provide direct patient care to medically complex and/or critically ill patients requiring extended hospitalization
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of medical professionals to carry out individualized care plans
  • Gather and report data
  • Carry out orders
  • Perform therapeutic procedures on patients in an age- and population-appropriate manner
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Holds current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) in the state where the hospital resides, or compact licensure if state participates
  • Current BLS certification required; BLS certification must be AHA approved within 90 days of employment
  • Current IV Certification within 90 days of employment, if required per state regulations
  • One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred but not required
