About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver care to patients admitted to the nursing unit under the direction of the RN, Nurse Manager, or Charge Nurse
  • Utilize the nursing process while delivering patient care
  • Provide direct patient care to medically complex and/or critically ill patients requiring extended hospitalization
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including Respiratory Therapists, Physical Therapists, Case Managers, Dietitians, and Speech Language Pathologists
  • Assist in carrying out individualized care plans
  • Gather and report data
  • Carry out orders
  • Perform therapeutic procedures on patients in an age- and population-appropriate manner
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Current unrestricted LPN License in the state you are applying
  • Current BLS certification
  • ACLS Certification required within 90 days of hire (reimbursement provided)
  • One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred but not required
  • Prior experience in emergency or critical care environments preferred
  • Comfort working with vents/trachs/PICC lines preferred
  • Two years of experience in direct patient care preferred
