About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver care to patients admitted to the nursing unit under the direction of the RN, Nurse Manager, or Charge Nurse
- Utilize the nursing process while delivering patient care
- Provide direct patient care to medically complex and/or critically ill patients requiring extended hospitalization
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including Respiratory Therapists, Physical Therapists, Case Managers, Dietitians, and Speech Language Pathologists
- Assist in carrying out individualized care plans
- Gather and report data
- Carry out orders
- Perform therapeutic procedures on patients in an age- and population-appropriate manner
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested
Requirements
What you’ll need- Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) in the state where the hospital resides, or compact licensure if the state participates
- Current BLS certification required; certification must be AHA approved within 90 days of employment
- Current IV Certification within 90 days of employment, if required by state regulations
- One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred but not required
