Key responsibilities & impact

Utilize the nursing process while delivering, directing, and supervising care to patients admitted to the nursing unit
Plan, coordinate, and provide patient care
Participate in interdisciplinary planning
Coordinate discharge planning
Provide patient and family teaching for post-hospitalization
Access community resources
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested
May perform Charge Nurse duties

Requirements

What you’ll need

Current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in the state where the hospital resides, or compact licensure if the state participates
Current BLS certification required
BLS certification must be AHA approved within 90 days of employment
ACLS certification required within 90 days of employment
ACLS certification must be AHA approved within 90 days of employment
Current ACLS certification required for Charge Nurses
One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred but not required
