About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Assume full DOR responsibilities at assigned IRF and LTACH facilities during vacancies or leaves of absence
Ensure continuity of therapy operations, including staffing, scheduling, and compliance with regulatory and company standards
Provide immediate operational stabilization, including workforce alignment and prioritization of patient care needs
Assist in the adjustment of staffing plans
Monitor and improve productivity, utilization, and scheduling efficiency at the assigned hospitals
Support new IRF and LTACH program launches
Train and onboard newly hired Directors of Rehabilitation and therapy staff
Assist in establishing workflows, staffing models, and therapy delivery structures
Analyze performance data including functional outcomes (IRF)
Partner with facility leadership to implement targeted action plans
Drive measurable improvements in patient outcomes, compliance, and cost efficiency.

Requirements

What you’ll need

3–5+ years of experience as a Director of Rehabilitation in IRF and/or LTACH settings
Strong knowledge of IRF regulations (including functional scoring and CMS requirements) and LTACH clinical operations
Demonstrated experience with labor management, staffing models, and productivity optimization
Proven ability to lead in dynamic, high-change environments
Willingness to travel extensively
Adaptive leadership and rapid operational assessment
Strong labor management and financial acumen
Clinical and regulatory expertise across care settings
Data-driven decision making
Effective communication and team development.
