About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assume full DOR responsibilities at assigned IRF and LTACH facilities during vacancies or leaves of absence
- Ensure continuity of therapy operations, including staffing, scheduling, and compliance with regulatory and company standards
- Provide immediate operational stabilization, including workforce alignment and prioritization of patient care needs
- Assist in the adjustment of staffing plans
- Monitor and improve productivity, utilization, and scheduling efficiency at the assigned hospitals
- Support new IRF and LTACH program launches
- Train and onboard newly hired Directors of Rehabilitation and therapy staff
- Assist in establishing workflows, staffing models, and therapy delivery structures
- Analyze performance data including functional outcomes (IRF)
- Partner with facility leadership to implement targeted action plans
- Drive measurable improvements in patient outcomes, compliance, and cost efficiency.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3–5+ years of experience as a Director of Rehabilitation in IRF and/or LTACH settings
- Strong knowledge of IRF regulations (including functional scoring and CMS requirements) and LTACH clinical operations
- Demonstrated experience with labor management, staffing models, and productivity optimization
- Proven ability to lead in dynamic, high-change environments
- Willingness to travel extensively
- Adaptive leadership and rapid operational assessment
- Strong labor management and financial acumen
- Clinical and regulatory expertise across care settings
- Data-driven decision making
- Effective communication and team development.
