About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Supervise and support the day-to-day delivery of high-quality clinical care under the guidance of the Clinical Manager
  • Provide clinical leadership and mentoring to Enrolled Nurses and Personal Care Assistants
  • Oversee resident assessments, care planning, and documentation in accordance with Aged Care Quality Standards
  • Manage and review complex wound care and coordinate allied health referrals
  • Support the Clinical Manager in audits, quality improvement programs, and compliance activities
  • Promote excellence in infection control and clinical governance
  • Assist with staff education, onboarding, and performance support
  • Ensure compliance with the Aged Care Code of Conduct, Aged Care Quality Standards, and Charter of Rights
  • Participate in continuous improvement and clinical meetings to enhance resident outcomes
  • Work closely with the Clinical Manager to ensure the highest standards of clinical care are delivered

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor of Nursing with current AHPRA registration
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in a senior nursing role within Residential Aged Care
  • Strong understanding of the Aged Care Quality Standards
  • Gerontology Certificate / Diploma or willingness to undertake same
  • Excellent clinical assessment, leadership, and mentoring skills
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and respond to deteriorating residents
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with residents, families, and health professionals
  • Commitment to continuous learning and improvement
  • Current National Police Check
  • Valid C-Class Driver’s Licence
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Positive attitude, initiative, and ability to work independently
  • Working knowledge of Autumn Care
  • All applicants must provide a valid national police check and undergo a pre-employment medical assessment
