About the role

  • Take responsibility for portfolio acquisition and portfolio management, balancing profitability and risk
  • Lead pricing, acquisitions, ongoing management and potential disposals of our portfolios
  • Work closely with internal teams and external partners, ensuring smooth communication across all portfolio management activities
  • Responsible for KPI reporting, developing forecasts and providing data-driven recommendations to the management team
  • Develop the valuation framework for portfolio risks and ensure continuous monitoring and mitigation
  • Guide and develop the team with clear objectives, fostering a culture of ownership and innovation
  • Continuously improve processes and identify opportunities for further automation and data-driven decision-making

Requirements

  • Degree in Economics, Finance or a comparable qualification, plus several years of professional experience in credit/portfolio management, ideally within a debt collection agency
  • Knowledge of credit and portfolio management, scoring/rating and segmentation
  • Experience in pricing & valuation of NPL portfolio investments (cashflow models, DCF, scenario and sensitivity analyses)
  • Strong analytical skills in statistical performance analysis (vintage, cohort analyses and backtesting) to prepare decision-relevant information; ideally experience in results analysis, evaluation and model development
  • Experience with forecasting models and time-series analysis for strategic decision-making is a plus
  • Strong MS Excel and SQL skills required; experience with Python for data preparation, modeling and automation is a plus
  • Clear, goal-oriented communication style and a collaborative, empowering leadership approach
  • Business-fluent English in spoken and written form; fluent German is advantageous
