About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Act strategically to support the team with tax planning for the business group.
- Conduct tax studies and analyses aimed at tax efficiency, including result projections, scenario simulations and calculation of tax and financial impacts.
- Monitor and interpret tax rules and legislation, translating impacts for the business and proposing strategic solutions.
- Perform calculations and assessments of tax planning initiatives, proposing alternatives that provide tax optimization with legal certainty.
- Analyze and structure corporate transactions, such as capital increases, demergers, mergers and incorporations.
- Support analyses related to investment funds (FIDC) and the calculation of JCP (Interest on Equity).
- Prepare and present tax planning models and calculations for all companies within the group.
- Monitor and control tax losses and negative taxable bases of companies, ensuring correct utilization and compliance.
- Monitor and report economic and systemic impacts resulting from the Tax Reform (effective early 2026), proposing adaptive strategies for the group.
- Prepare management reports (e.g., effective tax rate, composition of tax explanatory notes).
- Review and monitor internal processes, ensuring alignment with tax-efficiency practices and compliance.
- Evaluate existing workflows and propose/develop improvements focused on simplification, automation and mitigation of tax risks.
- Review the applicability of direct taxes (IRPJ, CSLL) and indirect taxes (ICMS, PIS, COFINS, ISS), including withholding taxes.
- Track legislative updates and disseminate knowledge to other areas, acting as an internal knowledge multiplier.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree in Accounting or Law.
- Experience in strategic tax planning, preferably within medium or large corporate groups.
- Experience preparing and conducting complex tax studies and analyses, focused on tax efficiency and legal certainty.
- Prior experience monitoring legislation and assessing tax impacts on the business.
- Solid background in the area, with mastery of the applicability of IRPJ/CSLL and of tax incentives/benefits for IRPJ/CSLL purposes.
- Knowledge of tax reporting obligations ECD, ECF, EFD and DCTF.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Knowledge of international taxation (Latam).
- Experience with the SAP system.
- Knowledge of SOX audit processes.
- Prior experience working in a Big Four audit firm.
