About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide routine daily nursing care and services according to residents’ assessments and care plans
- Identify residents before administering treatments and serving meals
- Record information accurately using authorized abbreviations and facility documentation systems
- Report changes in residents’ conditions, accidents, incidents, complaints, grievances, injuries, abuse allegations, and unauthorized information access or disclosure
- Prepare rooms and welcome, orient, transport, and assist residents during admissions, transfers, discharges, and vehicle loading/unloading
- Maintain a warm, calm, and positive environment
- Participate in nursing reports and meetings to identify problems and improve services
- Follow blood/body-fluid exposure, safety, confidentiality, and facility policies
- Make beds and maintain clean water pitchers and resident environments
- Measure and record temperatures, pulses, respirations, weights, and measurements
- Monitor residents’ care needs, food/fluid intake, skin condition, and residents unable to call for help
- Answer resident calls promptly and provide after-meal care
- Assist residents with dental care, bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and keeping dry
- Prepare residents for medical tests, examinations, therapy, dental care, and other treatments
- Assist with lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting residents using beds, chairs, wheelchairs, lifts, and bathtubs
- Perform restorative, rehabilitative, and special treatments as instructed
- Report missing residents and defective equipment to the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse
- Cooperate with nursing and inter-departmental personnel to maintain adequate resident services
- No supervisory responsibilities
Requirements
What you’ll need- CNA certification from an accredited program
- Active South Carolina CNA certification
- Current CPR certification
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 10th-grade education
- Licensed Certified Nursing Assistant in accordance with South Carolina law
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business, professional, technical, and governmental materials
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers and employees
- Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions
- Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds
- Ability to assist with resident evacuation during emergencies
- Required to work at least one shift per week
