About the role

  • The RDQAM works to educate facilities and regional support staff to implement operational Policies & Procedures and best practices.
  • Provides consulting oversight, and tracks facility Medical Records Directors, assisting with orientation of new Medical Records Director hires.
  • Completes on-site facility visits for education and monitoring of trends in documentation to support facility operations.
  • Conducts regular monitoring of medical records across multiple facilities to ensure regulatory compliance and documentation accuracy.
  • Participates in regular team meetings with SQAM and other DQAM to address challenges and set goals.
  • Coordinates Regional Ops trainings for Medical Records Directors on Medical Records best practices.
  • Educates and enforces PACS Medical Records Policy and Procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Ability to type 45+ words per minute.
  • Possesses a strong working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, legal aspect of health information, coding, indexing, etc.
  • ICD-10 certified preferred.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Ability to read medical anatomy and technical procedures.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant and solve practical challenges.
  • Must be able to interpret instructions in writing, orally, and by diagram.
