About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work on-site at a key customer location to install, maintain, and support Packsize equipment
  • Manage parts and inventory within the customer warehouse
  • Build and maintain customer relationships through effective equipment service and proactive customer contact
  • Work cross-functionally with R&D, Software, and Quality Engineering teams
  • Receive incoming parts and supplies and verify quality and quantity
  • Document and maintain records of parts transactions
  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels
  • Analyze customer KPIs to identify machine performance issues
  • Troubleshoot problems and perform machine maintenance
  • Complete training courses successfully
  • Develop knowledge of packaging designs
  • Perform preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and accessories
  • Install new equipment and train customer personnel
  • Complete basic administrative duties
  • Operate machines by clearing jams, loading Z-fold, changing labels, changing bander paper, and adding glue
  • Travel by vehicle or airplane within the assigned geography, with possible overnight travel
  • Provide written and verbal reports to the customer and direct supervision regarding worksite status

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proven experience in parts and inventory management, preferably in a similar industry
  • Proficiency with inventory management software and tools
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Basic Excel and Word skills
  • Knowledge of Windows platforms
  • Advanced mechanical skills
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills using drawings, operational characteristics, and technical documentation
  • Ability to learn troubleshooting and problem-solving procedures
  • Able and willing to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to walk, climb, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel, and bend at the waist
  • Must be able to climb a ladder
  • Mature, independent judgment with little or no direct supervision
  • Effective written and verbal communication through reports to customers and direct supervision
  • Associate degree or vocational technical training strongly desired
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related area preferred
  • Good mechanical and troubleshooting skills
  • Clean driving record with a valid driver’s license
  • Must be accessible by telephone and promptly return email and phone messages
  • Ability to follow safety protocols around moving parts and electricity
  • Thursday-Sunday weekend night shift, 5:30pm-4am
  • Ability to travel within the assigned geography; overnight travel may be required
