About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform essential back-office functions supporting accurate account processing, regulatory compliance, and member service
- Process mail, deposits, loan payments, outgoing wire transfers, digital account openings, and complex account requests
- Review, process, audit, and recommend approval of remote outgoing wire transfer requests
- Review, process, and audit digital account opening applications and associated reports
- Process powers of attorney and subpoena requests
- Assist with IRA administration and related account functions
- Resolve member inquiries and eCommerce technical troubleshooting issues
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager, Assistant Manager, and multiple departments on reporting and cross-functional project issues
- Maintain accurate records, research account inquiries, and prepare documentation
- Lead Symitar release testing and disaster recovery testing
- Identify training needs, develop training materials, and train employees as assigned
- Support management, complete special projects, and provide backup as directed
- Contribute to process improvements, innovation, and system enhancements
- Keep management informed of member issues, outside agency concerns, and workflow backlogs
- Comply with anti-money laundering laws, including the Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC regulations, and the USA PATRIOT Act
- Work Monday through Friday, generally 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with some alternate schedules
- Perform less than 5% local travel, primarily for training, meetings, or special projects
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent, required
- Two to six years of experience in a credit union or financial institution as a teller, including check and cash handling
- Experience performing advanced account administrative functions in compliance with federal regulations, including IRAs, certificates, subpoenas, and powers of attorney
- Ability to utilize digital banking platforms for member transactions and account management
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in repetitive tasks
- Clear, professional written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
- Experience handling telephone inquiries and challenging member interactions professionally
- Experience promoting and cross-selling credit union products and services
- Ability to maintain punctuality and adhere to assigned work schedules
- Proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of Symitar software system, preferred
- Previous customer service and/or call center experience, preferred
- Spanish/English bilingual proficiency, strongly preferred
- Ability to hear and comprehend spoken communication in person and over the phone
- Ability to view computer screens and read documentation clearly and accurately
- Ability to speak clearly and effectively
- Proficient use of hands and fingers for typing, office equipment, and document handling
- Ability to sit or stand at a workstation for extended periods
- Ability to move within the office environment
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry materials weighing up to 30 lbs.
- Less than 5% local travel required
