Assists with evaluating and processing insurance applications for businesses; gathers and reviews documentation; enters data into underwriting systems; prepares quotes; communicates with agents and brokers; ensures submissions are complete and accurate, helping streamline underwriting and maintain compliance with company guidelines.
The ideal candidate will reside in the Harrisburg PA, Pittsburgh PA, or Greensboro NC areas.
Team Building: Assists with training team members and new employees on tasks and processing in new lines of business and/or different types of transactions.
Attention to Details: Monitors emails and assigned work for proper handling; Accesses and records the statistical information necessary for the development of statistical and actuarial reports; Has a working knowledge of multiple systems and can discern inconsistencies between each.
Quality Orientation: Gathers necessary data for assigned transactions, in accordance with the Company’s rate, rule and form filings, to ensure an accurate product; Processes automated and manual transactions for assigned lines of business; Gathers required base rates, LCM, and other details; Enters transaction information into the PC; Assists with Bond tasks.
Planning and Organizing: Initiates and follows-up on correspondence with agents and various other departments; Independently organizes and prioritizes workload.
Positive Approach: Works closely with the CSS to resolve errors and account or agency issues; Works with others to resolve errors and account or agency issues or concerns before working with the CSS.
Applied Learning: Puts new knowledge into practical use; absorbs and understands new information and develops skills.
Performs other duties as assigned by Team Leader.
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required
Minimum of one (1) years’ experience in a clerical support position, preferably in the property/casualty insurance industry
Prior commercial lines rating experience, with the ability to rate one or more of the major lines of business, i.e. Business Auto, Workers’ Compensation, Business Owners, Commercial Property, General Liability, and Umbrella, preferred
Good interpersonal skills

Good PC skills, with an emphasis on Microsoft Office Suite

This position is primarily a sedentary position that requires occasional standing and walking throughout the office environment.
