About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive strategic collaboration cross-departmentally (across business departments and between the business and technical teams) to improve the usage and quality of data, grow data literacy, and facilitate discussion of information and data governance best practices.
  • Manage and automate the information and data quality program for WBD to support a culture of informed decision making and risk reduction to ensure monitoring controls exist for enrollments.
  • Foster a culture of data driven innovation, continuous improvement, and informed decision making based on clean, consistent, and understood information - including IDQ controls, metrics, reporting, and remediation.
  • Built and maintained scalable data pipelines using distributed processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Kafka), ensuring high data quality, lineage tracking, and real-time data availability.
  • Designed and implemented robust data architecture (data lakes and warehouses) with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), enabling efficient data access, governance enforcement, and AI-ready datasets.
  • Applied software engineering best practices include version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and automated testing to deliver reliable, production-grade data and AI systems.
  • Manage DG forums and utilize agile practices to prioritize and align workplans.
  • Create Data Governance program evaluation process, i.e. Maturity Assessment to manage ongoing progress against program priorities for Data Governance.
  • Manage documentation for the physical data dictionary in Collibra, including maintenance of various meta data assets, business glossary, security classification and PHI/PII flag.
  • Protect the privacy, integrity and security of data through an intentional and guided process, including implementing new processes, controls, and training, and ongoing monitoring with Compliance, Risk, Legal, Training.
  • Act as the focal point for Divisional and Analytics business partners, who are driving data strategy and requirements.
  • Support effective communication and training for data quality process, tools, and measurements.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance or related field.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 6+ years’ of professional Data Quality and governance experience that covers standards and policies, data error resolution, and data quality practices including data profiling and data quality monitoring.
  • 5+ years of experience defining and establishing data governance and data quality processes within an enterprise that covers workforce benefits domain. (Workforce Benefits domain knowledge is a must).
  • 3+ years of data analysis or reporting experience with building SQL queries, metrics definitions and translating source data into target analysis.
  • 3+ years’ experience using a Data quality tool.
  • Prior experience selecting and implementing a Data quality/data observability framework and toolset.
  • Experience with Cloud computing software and leading ETL and orchestration technologies with clear understanding of ETL process.
  • Deep experience in data management practices and data quality management tools including ML based observability tools.
  • Demonstrates understanding of business and data strategy and how it’s connected to Data Quality.
  • Demonstrates experience with metrics gathering, tracking, and reporting.
  • Experience working on complex business/technology initiatives within and across multiple verticals/domains.
  • Ability to analyze complex data issues and determine appropriate policies, standards, and solutions to enhance the experience for data users.
  • Strong written communication skills including experience drafting policies and procedures.
  • Strong Stakeholder management, relationship building skills, demonstrated consultative approach, and influencing skills is a must.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Highly self-motivated, willingness to take personal risk and detail oriented.
