About the role
- Set the direction and vision for technologies supporting various business units at Pacific Life
- Manage architecture, design, development, and implementation of data solutions
- Guide a team of data architects and work with data engineers, data analysts, and data scientists
- Establish and enforce data architecture defined patterns, tools, and technologies
- Participate in troubleshooting data environment issues and provide expertise for root cause analysis and resolution
- Lead efforts to integrate diverse data sources ensuring data consistency and quality
- Oversee assessment and migration of legacy data systems to modern cloud platforms
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in data architecture, data management, data engineering, data analysis, or data science roles
- Ability to design and implement data architectures that support business goals
- Knowledge of data technologies and platforms such as SQL, Python, Spark, Kafka, Snowflake, DBT, AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Solid understanding of data architecture/data engineering concepts including data modeling, data warehousing, data integration, data pipeline, data lake, data quality, and data security
- Experience in designing and building data solutions that use advanced analytics and machine learning
- Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills
