About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing in accordance with local GAAP (NCIF).
Maintain statutory accounting books and electronic ledgers required by National Customs and Super Sociedades.
Ensure accurate reconciliation of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll & social security accruals, Fixed Assets & Depreciation, Banks, suspense, and clearing accounts.
Prepare annual statutory financial statements under NCIF.
Guarantee full compliance with national and municipal tax requirements.
Ensure accuracy and timely submission of all National Customs filings and electronic logs.
Maintain a robust internal control environment aligned with regional and HQ Internal Audit.
Manage local banking relationships, ensuring compliance with dual-approval schemes.
Supervise payroll accounting and compliance on payroll, withholding, and social security.
Coordinate the local accounting team (AR, AP, Payroll) and outsourcing partner.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
5–10 years of experience in accounting, tax, controlling, and external audit in shipping and logistics.
Strong knowledge of NCIF / COL-GAAP (Decreto 2420 and updates), tax regulations (IVA, Renta, etc), Payroll and social security (Electronic invoicing (Factura Electrónica) and National Customs procedures.
Bilingual: Spanish native / English Advanced.
ERP knowledge: Oracle, SAP, or similar (Oracle preferred).
Advanced Excel (financial analysis, reconciliations, data validation).
