Support for testing residential and commercial HVAC systems up to 15 tons
Support for testing commercial & residential water heaters and hot-water distribution systems
Perform data analysis from liquid flowmeter testing ensuring accuracy
Supporting senior staff with Energy Efficiency Testing across all active test chambers
Unit testing & data analysis
Control & DAS programming
Codes & standards literature review
Assist with control system and system operation commissioning
Travel may be required; frequency depends on the assignment and is typically less than 10%

Requirements

Qualified candidates are pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at an accredited University
Students must be continuing their education towards their degree during and/or after the internship
EIT or FE certification
3.0 GPA or greater in both cumulative GPA and major GPA
Interest in the Power System Equipment Testing, Power Flow Modeling and Analysis, Test Automation, Controls and Data Acquisition, Engineering Analytics, Power Electronics, Electric Vehicles, and DERs
Engineering experience in utilities, municipalities, construction, or engineering consultation
Experience with utility modeling software such as CYME, PSCAD, RSCAD, PSS/E, PSLF
Programming experience including National Instruments Labview, Python, Matlab
Ability to work in a team environment and support fellow team members
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Strong communication skills, both oral and written
Takes initiative and can work independently with minimal direction
