About the role

Support senior engineering staff on key initiatives including analyzing non-traditional solutions for reliability improvement associated with overhead conductor, underground cable, transformers, capacitors, connectors, other components
Evaluate cutting edge technologies to solve specific threats or problems for our stakeholders
Apply basic engineering principles and scientific theory
Perform testing, calculations and analysis under direction of senior engineers or supervisor
Partner with senior engineers and support more complex projects by compiling and synthesizing technical data
Collaborate with leadership and stakeholders through effective communication
Travel may be required; frequency depends on the assignment and is typically less than 10%

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Materials, Industrial, or Operations Engineering
Students must be continuing their education towards their degree during and/or after the internship
Desired: EIT or FE certification
3.0 GPA or greater in both cumulative GPA and major GPA
Engineering experience in utilities, municipalities, construction, or engineering consultation
Ability to work in a team environment and support fellow team members
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Takes initiative and can work independently with minimal direction
