About the role

  • Each engineering intern’s responsibility will be dependent on the department assignment in either Gas Operations or Gas Engineering.
  • Possible departments may include but not limited to the listed below:
  • Gas System Operations
  • Gas Transmission and Distribution Construction
  • Gas Distribution Operations
  • Gas Portfolio Management and Planning
  • Gas Regulatory and Risk
  • Gas Strategy Execution and System Planning

Requirements

  • Qualified candidates are currently enrolled pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree full-time in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related engineering fields.
  • Students must be continuing education towards degree during and/or after internship.
  • Students must be returning back to school in the Fall of 2026 continuing full-time enrollment.
  • Must be in good academic standing.
  • FE/EIT certification
  • Former PG&E Intern
  • Work experience or internships in utilities, municipalities, construction, or other pipeline related fields
  • Ability to work in a team environment and support fellow team members
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Takes initiative and can work independently with minimal direction.
