About the role
- Conduct engineering analyses, studies and review project scope for standards compliance.
- Develop and implement PG&E’s electric transmission asset strategy
- Interprets and applies applicable codes and regulations.
- Perform, document and publish equipment ratings
- Assist other engineers, team members, and supervisor by developing, compiling, and providing technical data
- Update and manage databases as required
- Prepare or support incident investigations, equipment failure analyses and reliability studies.
- Comply with FERC, CPUC, CAISO and other regulations and requirements
- Communicate with regulators, customers and other external stakeholders to advance PG&E’s objectives.
Requirements
- BS Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited curriculum in the US or the equivalent from outside the US
- 3 years of cumulative experience in electrical engineering, planning and/or operations.
- Current and active California PE license
- Able to apply basic power engineering principles and theory.
- Assess and recommend solutions for routine projects
- Familiarity with electric distribution systems
- Experience or comfort with tools such as Tableau, Excel, PowerPoint, ET-GIS
- Background in six sigma process
- Work easily with data to find trends
- Knowledge of reliability metrics such as SAIDI and SAIFI
