About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Organize, coordinate and optimize the activities of child and adolescent psychiatry units, rehabilitation services and the pool
- Ensure smooth patient pathways, particularly in collaboration with pediatric services and external partners
- Supervise patient flows and anticipate resource needs
- Lead multidisciplinary teams (nurses, educators, therapists, nursing assistants, administrative staff)
- Develop and adjust staff schedules according to activity and constraints (absenteeism, training, reinforcement)
- Conduct annual appraisals, assess skills and support professional development
- Promote quality of work life and team cohesion
- Prevent and manage tension or conflict situations
- Identify material and equipment needs; participate in investment planning
- Monitor inventories, orders and maintenance
- Collaborate with support services (biomedical, technical, logistics)
- Implement quality and patient safety policies
- Participate in audits, evaluations of professional practices (EPP), CREX and morbidity and mortality reviews (RMM)
- Monitor and analyze performance indicators
- Promote a quality culture among teams and maintain regulatory vigilance
- Ensure effective communication (upward, downward and cross-functional)
- Lead service meetings and produce minutes
- Develop partnerships with external stakeholders (medical-social sector, education, institutions…)
- Represent the units internally and externally
- Participate in onboarding new professionals
- Organize supervision and support for trainees
- Identify training needs and support skills development
- Foster cooperation between child psychiatry and pediatrics
- Optimize processes to reduce waiting times for care
- Actively contribute to certification processes and continuous improvement
Requirements
What you’ll need- Diploma for nurse managers (Cadre de santé) or a university degree (level 6 or 7) in health, management or educational sciences
- Proven experience managing teams in the healthcare or medico-social sector
- Experience in child and adolescent psychiatry or in a multidisciplinary environment is an asset
- Familiarity with hospital organizations and care pathways
- Ability to manage complex activities across multiple sites or units
- Knowledge of quality approaches, certification processes and risk management
- Ability to lead projects and support change management
- Leadership and a strong sense of responsibility
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Diplomacy, fairness and decisiveness
- Resilience and ability to manage stress and complex situations
- Organizational skills, rigor and foresight
- Initiative and an innovative mindset
