About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Cashflow forecasting and monitoring
- Inventory clearing accounts: weekly reconciliation to ensure accuracy in posting
- Assist in the production of first draft Monthly Management Accounts for review by Senior Accountant
- Highlight areas of variance (Act vs Bud) with explanations
- Produce weekly profitability reports by customer
- Provide detailed financial analysis on request to support key business decisions
- Support accounting for UK and European operating business and entities
- To monitor accuracy of processing for AP, AR, staff expenses
- To work together with Operations and Purchasing to ensure efficient and accurate processing of transactions in line with Group policies
- Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts: various to include rebates, fixed assets, inventory
- Management of FA Register, logging of all additions/disposals, generate deprecation journal each month
- Upkeep of current Financial Operating Procedures
- Provision of information and analysis for Financial Audit
- NetSuite and financial software integration and upkeep
- Improvements and innovation to financial processes
- Additional ad hoc duties KPI’s:
- Provision of accurately completed Monthly Management Accounts by the 7th of each month
- Ensure entity balance sheet account reconciliations are completed in an accurate and timely manner
- Accurate production of customer profitability reports.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3 years’ of broad finance functional experience
- Experienced in conducting balance sheet reconciliations, identifying variances and tracking down process improvements
- Exposure to commercial finance or FP&A
- Comfortable with using ERP system (NetSuite preferred but not essential), and Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritise tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
- Ability to identify, analyse and develop effective solutions to problems
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Competent in building and interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company, and to influence remotely-based colleagues as required to maintain robust financial processes
- Excellent communications skills – written, verbal and interpersonal - with an ability to tailor communication style to diverse audiences
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
