Senior Process Engineer
Owens & MinorR&D Senior Process Engineer leading nonwoven material development activities for Owens & Minor's Global Products and Healthcare Services portfolio, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform Nonwoven Material Development & Sustaining activities related to the O&M Global Products & Healthcare Services Portfolio.
- Lead engineering activities on large projects and support lower level and peer engineers on larger programs.
- Define product requirements, prototype concepts, develop manufacturable designs and test product to meet defined specifications.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams including Marketing, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and Product Supply.
- Lead workstreams of more complex projects or be the primary leader for mid-size to large projects.
- Make technical decisions with minimal assistance; propose solutions to deal with change and ambiguity.
- Execute product changes regulated by design control; translate customer requirements into validatable market requirements and verifiable product requirements.
- Mentor and provide work direction to lower level engineers; coach peers to improve skills and outcomes.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science related field.
- 10 years’ experience or equivalent balance of Education/Experience.
- Strong project management, analytical, and communication skills.
- Advanced understanding of statistical analysis tools and software.
- Previous industry experience working with nonwovens process’s related to Spunbond and Meltblown materials.
- Experience supporting marketing/sales of nonwoven materials or finished products.
- Knowledge of Quality System Regulations (Design Control and Process Validation) compliant with the FDA and other regulatory agencies.
- Previous experience resolving technical issues and implementing solutions.
- Ability to interface effectively with health care professionals and non-woven customers.
- Ability to travel both domestically and internationally (must have the ability to obtain a passport). Less than 25%.
