About the role
- Act as a trusted business advisor to building materials distributors, lumber companies, and contractors
- Strategically leverage customer relationships to execute annual sales plan
- Drive growth within the building materials industry and provide added value to OC and customers
- Execute price strategy and provide customer insights
- Grow existing customer accounts while developing new customer opportunities
- Utilize market knowledge of strengths and weaknesses to win business
- Support the Roofing Distribution business as part of the Central Valley sales team
- Travel overnight as needed for customer and territory coverage
Requirements
- Prior experience selling on the value of a product or service from cold call through close
- Listening skills to understand, diagnose and solve customer problems
- Ability to develop and execute customer or territory strategy
- Demonstrated ability to build strong customer relationships
- Ability to make persuasive product presentations
- Conducts self with the highest ethical and moral standards
- Must be located within the Central Valley territory
- Position is home office based with the ability to travel overnight
- Ability to operate across geographic and cultural boundaries
- Bilingual/Bicultural is a plus
- Industry experience is not required; company will provide product and application training
