About the role
- Establish and maintain process recipes for operating lines to safely produce products that meet codes, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Continuously improve the glass making process to eliminate waste, improve safety, reduce cost, increase capacity and productivity, and improve the product.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and environmentally compliant work environment and build a culture where safety is a first priority.
- Develop risk assessments for critical tasks.
- Conduct process audits to review Critical Product Characteristics and Critical Process Variables and implement corrective actions.
- Identify and implement process improvements and best practices. Coach, counsel, and train employees on process control.
- Partner with maintenance and operations to resolve equipment issues.
- Establish processes for all critical tasks and audit for adherence and compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Engineering
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a manufacturing or technical environment
- Understands customer needs, product specifications, basic cost drivers and the Critical Process Variables (CPVs) that impact these elements
- Understands and works with basic principles of engineering
- Understands statistical concepts including trial design, data analysis, control charts, process capability and design of experiments to drive process improvements
- Maintain the ability to understand how to produce fiberglass including raw materials, processes and control systems
- Ability to communicate with and engage employees at all levels of the organization
- Ability to manage multiple priorities or projects at one time
- Ability to learn the principals of the basics of TPM
