About the role
- Take ownership of promoting and maintaining a safe work environment
- Ensure permit conditions are met on schedule
- Oversee routine sampling, reporting, recordkeeping, and audits
- Promptly report environmental non-conformances
- Develop site skills and capabilities
- Coach and advise plant leadership on safety matters
- Lead training programs in collaboration with plant personnel
- Recognize employee achievements and contributions
- Identify hazardous conditions through incident investigations and trend analysis
- Drive risk reduction through data collection and analysis
- Set personal and site objectives aligned with company goals
- Participate in corporate HSE initiatives
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Health, Safety & Environmental Management, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Experience in a leadership role in Health & Safety or in an industrial environment
- Willingness to travel occasionally
- Working knowledge of health and safety regulations and industrial hygiene practices
- Ability to identify gaps and develop appropriately prioritized action plans
- Strong ability to engage employees effectively
- Ability to promote a team environment and to initiate, lead, and complete team projects
- Experience delivering safety training
