About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Oversee daily operations and workflow of the Purchasing Team
Review reorder searches and make purchasing decisions for company webstores
Place purchase orders in NetSuite and coordinate with vendors through warehouse delivery
Collaborate with sales on special ordering rules, promotions, and seasonal buying patterns
Coordinate with internal and external decorators on purchase order processing
Maintain reorder searches, including discontinued items and new item setup
Liaise between upper management and team members
Identify operational issues and implement solutions
Manage purchasing for key accounts and large-revenue sales departments
Lead, train, and develop purchasing assistants or coordinators
Delegate daily tasks and act as an escalation point
Manage new webstore launches and ensure milestones and launch dates are met
Create and update items and SKUs for key accounts and large-revenue sales departments
Conduct team meetings, set performance targets, and monitor progress
Develop purchasing strategies and update SOPs and documentation
Coordinate purchasing requests and resolve complex situations
Collaborate with sales and operations on backorders, stock issues, work orders, and inventory transfers
Provide ad-hoc inventory and item-movement reporting to sales and clients
Produce advanced reports and modify existing reports with filters or columns
Coordinate inventory transfers between in-house and outside decoration
Communicate with senior management about reordering processes and operational improvements
Collaborate with Webstore Development, Item Changes, Customer Service, Sales, and the Webstore Program Manager
Perform additional tasks delegated by Upper Management based on department workflow

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of relevant purchasing experience
2+ years of promotional industry experience
5+ years of management experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Critical thinking ability and ability to analyze all aspects of an order
Strong initiative and confidence
Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally and courteously with internal and external customers
Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple projects
Ability to work calmly under pressure
Proficient in MS Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
Significant experience in MS Excel
