About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own Rippling configurations, workflows, integrations, data integrity, and reporting
  • Run accurate, timely multi-state US payroll every cycle
  • Coordinate international EoR onboarding for Pakistan and Egypt
  • Administer benefits, open enrollment, carrier relationships, employee inquiries, and plan updates
  • Maintain HRIS data, organizational charts, employee records, change management, and audit readiness
  • Own end-to-end onboarding, including system setup, orientation coordination, equipment provisioning, check-ins, and buddy programs
  • Manage offboarding, including access revocation, asset retrieval, exit documentation, and final pay coordination
  • Maintain and update the employee handbook and HR policies
  • Respond to employee HR questions and build Serval workflows to automate responses
  • Manage San Mateo office operations two days per week
  • Order office supplies and snacks
  • Coordinate team outings, in-office events, and culture moments
  • Manage AV setup and troubleshoot meeting technology
  • Maintain vendor relationships and coordinate with building management
  • Build and maintain integrations between Rippling, Ashby, and other people tools
  • Use Claude and other AI tools to automate workflows, draft communications, and surface data insights
  • Document processes for handoff or automation
  • Report directly to the Director of People & Performance

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4–5 years of People Operations or HR Generalist experience
  • At least one stint at a startup or high-growth company
  • Proven end-to-end Rippling ownership, including workflows, module configuration, payroll, and data maintenance
  • Multi-state payroll experience
  • International EoR familiarity, preferably Deel or equivalent
  • Active experience using Claude or other AI tools to meaningfully complete work
  • Benefits administration experience, including open enrollment and broker relationship management
  • Ability to manage competing priorities
  • Discretion with sensitive information, compensation data, PIPs, offboardings, and employee relations
  • Clear, direct written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work in the San Mateo office two days per week
