About the role

  • Lead backend architecture and design of highly scalable, low-latency distributed systems
  • Build and optimize Node.js microservices supporting player accounts, wallets, game engines, leader boards, and event-driven features
  • Ensure performance, reliability, and security of core APIs and services, handling high-throughput transactional workloads
  • Design and implement real-time communication (WebSockets, Pub/Sub, and event-driven messaging)
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, front-end engineers, and DevOps to deliver end-to-end features
  • Collaborate closely with front-end and product teams to deliver performant, interactive web-based features using React
  • Implement observability and monitoring to ensure system health and proactive issue resolution
  • Drive best practices across code quality, testing, CI/CD, and deployment processes
  • Mentor and guide engineers, contributing to team-wide technical excellence and knowledge sharing

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a focus on backend engineering
  • Proficiency with Node.js and building scalable back-end services, including real-time systems (WebSockets, multiplayer sync)
  • Experience with Databases, ideally Postgres
  • Solid understanding of performance optimization, rendering pipelines, and client-server architecture
  • Experience in React for high-performance front-end experiences
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern development workflows
  • Nice-to-Have: Background in crypto or iGaming
  • Background in multiplayer gaming, gambling, or iGaming platforms
  • Familiarity with game networking protocols, animations, and physics engines
  • Experience leading technical initiatives or mentoring engineers
  • Knowledge of cloud deployment (AWS) and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS)
