About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop accurate technical drawings, 3D models, and design concepts for commercial furniture pieces, ensuring alignment with project requirements and client specifications.
Collaborate closely with sales, product development, and project management teams to translate client needs into functional and aesthetic design solutions.
Produce detailed shop drawings, assembly guides, and production-ready documentation to support manufacturing and installation processes.
Revise and refine designs based on feedback from clients, stakeholders, and manufacturing partners, balancing design intent with technical feasibility.
Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and internal company quality guidelines.
Provide technical support during prototyping, testing, and production stages to resolve design or construction challenges.
Liaise with suppliers and fabricators to verify materials, finishes, hardware, and construction methods are suitable for each project.
Maintain organized and up-to-date design files, documentation, and version control to ensure accuracy and consistency across projects.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Demonstrated experience as a technical designer or drafter, ideally within the commercial furniture, joinery, or interior fit-out industry.
High-level proficiency in CET software (such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, or equivalent), with the ability to produce both 2D and 3D technical outputs.
Strong 3D visualization, rendering, and presentation skills to communicate design concepts effectively to both clients and internal teams.
Solid understanding of furniture manufacturing processes, materials, joinery techniques, and construction methods used in commercial applications.
Excellent attention to detail, with strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to anticipate and address technical issues before production.
Proven ability to manage multiple design projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and external partners.
