Sales Specialist – B2B
OutsourceySales Specialist (B2B) making outbound calls regarding funding needs and services. Initially support small business lending campaign and qualify leads for advisors and representatives.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Make a high volume of outbound cold calls to prospective and previous applicants daily
- Speak with business owners, franchise owners, and decision-makers regarding their funding needs, business goals, and potential interest in financial services.
- Initially support the small business lending campaign by identifying companies looking for working capital, business funding, or financing solutions.
- Qualify leads by gathering information related to revenue, business operations, and financing needs
- Conduct discovery conversations and identify potential opportunities for funding solutions
- Schedule qualified appointments for funding advisors and sales representatives
- Ask basic qualifying and close-ended questions to determine whether the prospect is serious and ready for a follow-up conversation
- Maintain strong follow-up with leads through phone calls, text messages, and email communication
- Confirm appointments and ensure prospects are prepared for scheduled calls
- Build rapport quickly and maintain professional communication with business owners
- Handle objections confidently and keep conversations productive and goal-oriented
- Update CRM systems with accurate notes, lead information, and call outcomes
- Manage lead pipelines and ensure no opportunities are missed
- Respond quickly to warm leads and inbound inquiries when available
- Follow scripts and processes while adapting naturally during conversations
- Collaborate with internal sales teams regarding lead quality and appointment flow
- Meet daily and weekly outreach and appointment-setting goals
- Potentially support employer benefits / PEO-related outreach in the future, which may involve speaking with higher-level B2B contacts such as C-suite executives, HR decision-makers, and business owners.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Up to 2 Years of Experience in outbound calling, sales, appointment setting, collections, or lead generation
- B2B sales or B2B appointment-setting experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience speaking with business owners, executives, or decision-makers is preferred.
- Strong phone communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable making a high number of outbound calls daily
- Ability to build rapport quickly and maintain engaging conversations
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience using CRM systems and managing lead pipelines
- Experience with Salesforce, 8x8, or similar CRM/dialer platforms is an advantage but not required.
- Ability to multitask and maintain consistent follow-up across multiple leads
- Strong spoken English and professional phone presence
- Self-motivated, persistent, and goal-oriented
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced sales environment
- Basic understanding of business funding, banking, underwriting, or lending is a plus but not required.
- Employer benefits, insurance, or PEO experience is not required, but B2B exposure would be helpful for future campaign expansion.
- Must be coachable and comfortable learning financial services concepts, scripts, compliance-sensitive language, and campaign-specific qualifying questions.
