About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Report directly to the Area Business Lead
  • Coordinate with Medical, Market Access, and Patient Support colleagues under appropriate guidelines
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for healthcare provider customers
  • Conduct proactive outreach to healthcare providers regarding product access, on-label information, and established patient care guidance
  • Engage customers through virtual and digital tools and direct them to other colleagues as needed
  • Facilitate speaker programs
  • Organize local provider groups to discuss experiences and outcomes with local and regional leaders
  • Ensure customer requests are met and solicit feedback on engagement quality
  • Collaborate compliantly with the ecosystem team to adjust targeting and call-point plans
  • Use customer insights to inform local strategy and business goals
  • Elevate opportunities, feedback, and local market insights to the Area Business Lead
  • Analyze territory, competitive data, business reports, sales data, and promotional budgets to track progress and uncover opportunities
  • Establish near-term priorities for the territory business plan
  • Respond compliantly to competitive threats and opportunities
  • Educate office staff on payer guidelines and reimbursement procedures
  • Utilize promotional materials and internal support-team resources
  • Overcome objections and influence prescribing habits during office calls
  • Identify professional groups and network with potential key opinion leaders
  • Build relationships with office and practice personnel
  • Provide accurate information and follow through on account needs
  • Deliver balanced office calls and sales presentations using approved marketing materials and technical references to help healthcare providers enhance patient outcomes
  • Demonstrate product and competitor knowledge

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least one of the following: 2+ years of pharmaceutical or medical device sales experience; 3+ years of business-to-business (B2B) or equivalent outside sales experience in regulated, clinical, or customer engagement experience; or 2+ years of clinical healthcare experience with demonstrated patient-facing, medical education, or therapy-focused responsibilities
  • Less experience considered for employees who successfully complete the Otsuka ReadyNow program
  • CNS knowledge is highly valued
  • Ability to communicate complex clinical information, influence stakeholders, and translate scientific data into clear, practical value propositions
  • Strong commitment to ethical business practices and understanding of regulatory standards
  • Ability to execute business activities in compliance with company policies and guidance
  • Ability to assimilate and communicate complex clinical and product information
  • Must reside within a commutable distance of 50 miles from the primary city in the sales territory
  • Ability to travel required
  • Daily field travel by car
