About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive launch strategy and launch preparation activities for all medical affairs deliverables
  • Oversee global medical affairs planning and activities in cross-functional collaboration with US and global functions
  • Develop and drive the strategic vision for assigned assets and contribute to the target reimbursable product profile
  • Conduct annual data gap analysis and develop and evolve product data generation plans across the asset lifecycle
  • Lead the global evidence generation review process for Phase IIIB and IV programs, investigator-sponsored studies, and non-interventional studies
  • Oversee core content development and communication strategy plans, including Global Publication Plans
  • Drive public dissemination of product-related data
  • Ensure US and regional offices/affiliates are aware of product-related data and coordinate medical activities across regions
  • Oversee development of manuscripts, presentations, symposiums, and posters
  • Serve as a therapeutic-area thought leader and engage field experts for feedback on clinical aspects, data generation, interpretation, and dissemination
  • Provide input into regulatory documents, including product labeling
  • Establish SOPs and standards to ensure effective, efficient medical operations and accurate, high-quality medical communications
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and standard operating procedures

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • MD, PhD, or PharmD with exceptional leadership experience in Medical Affairs
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Medical Affairs
  • At least 5-7 years of demonstrated supervisory experience
  • Ability to lead and motivate others
  • Previous experience launching new medicines, preferably in ALS or other rare or ultra-rare diseases
  • Extensive understanding of the company’s products, clinical development, commercialization strategy, competition, and pharmaceutical industry
  • Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams
  • Solid statistical knowledge and ability to interpret study findings and communicate appropriately
  • Skilled in managing change and influencing people
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to influence in a matrixed environment
  • Ability to travel up to 30-40% domestically and internationally based on business need
  • Experience or expertise in rare or ultra-rare diseases highly preferred
