About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive launch strategy and launch preparation activities for all medical affairs deliverables
- Oversee global medical affairs planning and activities in cross-functional collaboration with US and global functions
- Develop and drive the strategic vision for assigned assets and contribute to the target reimbursable product profile
- Conduct annual data gap analysis and develop and evolve product data generation plans across the asset lifecycle
- Lead the global evidence generation review process for Phase IIIB and IV programs, investigator-sponsored studies, and non-interventional studies
- Oversee core content development and communication strategy plans, including Global Publication Plans
- Drive public dissemination of product-related data
- Ensure US and regional offices/affiliates are aware of product-related data and coordinate medical activities across regions
- Oversee development of manuscripts, presentations, symposiums, and posters
- Serve as a therapeutic-area thought leader and engage field experts for feedback on clinical aspects, data generation, interpretation, and dissemination
- Provide input into regulatory documents, including product labeling
- Establish SOPs and standards to ensure effective, efficient medical operations and accurate, high-quality medical communications
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies and standard operating procedures
Requirements
What you’ll need- MD, PhD, or PharmD with exceptional leadership experience in Medical Affairs
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Medical Affairs
- At least 5-7 years of demonstrated supervisory experience
- Ability to lead and motivate others
- Previous experience launching new medicines, preferably in ALS or other rare or ultra-rare diseases
- Extensive understanding of the company’s products, clinical development, commercialization strategy, competition, and pharmaceutical industry
- Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams
- Solid statistical knowledge and ability to interpret study findings and communicate appropriately
- Skilled in managing change and influencing people
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to influence in a matrixed environment
- Ability to travel up to 30-40% domestically and internationally based on business need
- Experience or expertise in rare or ultra-rare diseases highly preferred
