About the role

  • Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Service, you will play a key role in building relationships with clients and prospects, understanding their needs and providing expert advice to recommend appropriate insurance solutions.
  • Your objective will be to develop long-term relationships, deliver exceptional customer service and drive sales by offering insurance products tailored to each client’s unique needs.
  • Prospecting and relationship development: Research, qualify and approach potential clients to drive sales growth.
  • Respond to inquiries, assess clients’ needs and recommend appropriate solutions to address issues and provide expert guidance.
  • Sales development: Increase sales by establishing strong relationships with prospects.
  • Engage via inbound calls, follow up on expired policies, renew prior-year quotes and pursue leads generated by marketing campaigns and online sources.
  • Existing account development: Identify opportunities to grow sales within existing accounts.
  • Develop tailored contact strategies, present new products and services, and maintain close communication with insurance underwriters to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Retention and client support: Strengthen relationships with members and existing accounts by delivering outstanding support, providing helpful information and identifying new growth opportunities.
  • Efficient request handling: Manage inbound calls, prepare quotes, update client information and assess risks in accordance with underwriting standards.
  • Provide clear responses to any account-related questions.
  • Competitive monitoring: Track customer reactions to competitor products and share observations with management.
  • Assess our products and suggest potential improvements to remain competitive in the market.
  • File management: Process policy changes and ensure all required documentation is completed for proper follow-up.
  • Residential assessment: Conduct residential evaluations and accurately record calculations in the system to support quotes and insurance offers.
  • Documentation and correspondence: Prepare clear, professional documents and communications as needed to support clients.
  • Client communications: Keep the BMS database up to date, ensure timely follow-up on all client interactions and deliver excellent service at every touchpoint.
  • Confidentiality and quality: Deliver exceptional service while maintaining confidentiality, protecting business activities and ensuring compliance with established procedures.
  • Reporting and accountability: Keep accurate records of quotes, sales and other key metrics for monthly reporting to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Market knowledge: Stay informed of current underwriting guidelines and market trends to offer clients relevant and up-to-date solutions.
  • Additional responsibilities: Perform other duties as required, applying your expertise and adaptability in the role.

Requirements

  • A valid AMF license is required.
  • A RIBO license is considered an asset, or the ability to obtain one within one year.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in personal lines, including auto and home insurance.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external clients at all levels.
  • Excellent time management, organizational and project management skills to handle multiple competing priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, brokerage management systems (BMS) and insurance company portals.
  • Fluency in both French and English, spoken and written, is required.
