About the role
- Manage multidisciplinary teams and project delivery, with a focus on stormwater infrastructure, fish passage, river and stream restoration, and flood mitigation projects in Puget Sound
- Prepare various reports supporting design decisions and permitting
- Direct and oversee the preparation of floodplain and watershed studies, hydrologic and hydraulic design reports, and construction documents
- Guide staff in preparing design calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports
- Develop and manage project scopes, schedules and budgets
- Participate in team strategy meetings on business development and technical delivery
- Support client development and proposal activities
- Support Otak's Transportation, Planning, and Architecture business units
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources, or Environmental Engineering required (Masters degree preferred)
- Minimum of 8 years of previous Project Management/Project Engineering experience in stream/river restoration design, or related field
- Must possess a valid Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Experience with preparation of construction documents for project designs and permits supported by hydrologic, hydraulic, and geomorphic calculations
- Demonstrated success managing projects from design through construction
- Experience with SWMM, HSPF, HEC-RAS, SRH-2D or similar hydrologic and hydraulic models
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, ArcGIS, and/or AutoCAD
- Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple project tasks with simultaneous deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are needed
