About the role
- Coordinate and oversee the placement of toxicology studies with external laboratories
- Develop, review, and refine study protocols for novel ingredients to ensure scientific soundness and data quality
- Review completed study outputs for consistency with protocol objectives and intended safety use
- Serve as the primary technical toxicology contact for external consultants supporting global ingredient registrations
- Provide toxicological input and clarification as required to support registration activities
- Conduct toxicology evaluations of individual ingredients and complex fragrance formulations in response to internal or client requests
- Communicate toxicological findings and safety considerations in a clear and practical manner
- Support the establishment of safety profiles for proprietary fragrance molecules (“Captives”)
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in Personal Care, Cosmetics, or Fragrance & Flavor
- Solid understanding of toxicology principles and experience supporting the design and oversight of laboratory study protocols
- Working knowledge of global chemical regulations and safety expectations relevant to fragrance materials
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and explain toxicology and safety concepts to non-scientific audiences
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and commercial timelines
- Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Toxicology, Pharmacology, Chemistry, or a related life science
