About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist and facilitate field accident and incident investigations for JLG and Jerr-Dan products
  • Travel, sometimes on short notice, to conduct on-site inspections and document investigations using photographs, videos, 3D scanning, and other required means
  • Become a trained operator and perform functional checks of products during incident investigations
  • Assist with research and discovery processes for litigation matters
  • Interact with company departments and outside entities on litigation matters
  • Initiate interaction with Engineering and other departments on product safety and reliability matters
  • Prepare Field Service Bulletins, Service Information, and related materials
  • Review new products for standards compliance
  • Review technical publications and marketing materials from a product safety perspective and recommend revisions or escalation
  • Represent the company in Government/Trade Association matters involving OSHA, CSA, AEM, ANSI, and others
  • Respond to JLG customers and end users regarding machine application, safe use, repairs, and technical specifications
  • Assist with departmental programs as assigned
  • Handle confidential and legally sensitive information with discretion, preserve evidence, and maintain accurate, factual documentation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or related field
  • Internship experience or 6 plus months of related work experience
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, sometimes on short notice
  • Education or experience focused on electro-mechanical, mechatronics, electrical, or mechanical engineering
  • Internship, co-op, or up to three years of related engineering experience preferred
  • Ability to multitask with effective organization and communication skills
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Ability to document observations clearly, objectively, and accurately
  • Ability to handle confidential and legally sensitive information with discretion
  • Certain positions may require U.S. Person status under ITAR or EAR regulations
