About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the technical infrastructure including hardware, software, and cloud service provider components for the United States Army Recruiting Command (USAREC) contract.
  • Assist with the implementation, administration, and support of Red Hat OpenShift environments.
  • Onboard applications into the platform in alignment with USAREC's cloud migration initiatives.
  • Support of Linux and Windows server environments, virtualization platforms, and DoD-compliant systems.
  • Contribute to containerization and cloud modernization initiatives in support of Army recruiting operations.
  • Map the relationship between IT platform/infrastructure components.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot system issues, identifying root causes and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Assist in the deployment, configuration, and administration of Red Hat OpenShift clusters.
  • Support system monitoring and performance optimization efforts.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining backup strategies.
  • Support documentation and configuration baselining of systems.
  • Research new tools and technologies for team initiatives.
  • Coordinate resources to resolve issues in a timely manner to meet SLA metrics.
  • Support DR/COOP exercises, testing, and live incidents.
  • Support security and integrity controls, including patching and compliance audits across systems.
  • Prepare technical documentation, training material, and status reports.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Interdisciplinary Studies, or a related field, plus at least one year of relevant IT experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience supporting and administering Linux and Windows server environments, including system configuration, maintenance, patching, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening.
  • Must have identification compliant with the Real ID Act at time of hire.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
  • Prior military or government leadership experience preferred.
  • Hands-on exposure to Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes, or other container orchestration platforms preferred.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, vCenter) preferred.
  • Familiarity with the Azure or AWS cloud ecosystem preferred.
  • Experience with Active Directory, Identity Management, or related tools preferred.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Network+, Linux+, or Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) preferred.
  • Familiarity with DISA STIG compliance and DoD security requirements preferred.
  • Basic scripting/automation experience preferred.
  • Agile/Scrum or change management certification preferred.
