About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- - End-to-end ownership of the global Travel & Expense (T&E) process
- - Establishment, stabilization, and continuous optimization of a scalable T&E framework
- - Development, implementation, and governance of global travel policies and standards
- - Lead a project-based setup phase to build a best-in-class T&E environment
- - Drive the selection, implementation, and rollout of a centralized T&E tool, replacing fragmented systems
- - Ensure strong user adoption, process efficiency, and a seamless employee experience
- - Ownership and application of country-specific travel expense regulations across all markets
- - Ensure correct implementation of international rules (e.g., per diems in Germany, USA, Spain)
- - Act as a subject matter expert for complex T&E topics and ensure compliance with local requirements
- - Serve as the global point of contact for all T&E-related questions
- - Advise internal stakeholders on travel expense policies, compliance, and best practices
- - Translate complex regulations into clear, practical guidance for the organization
- - Ensure seamless integration of T&E processes into Accounts Payable and ERP systems
- - Oversee correct account assignment, cost center allocation, and data quality
- - Collaborate closely with Finance, HR, and international teams to align processes
- - Identify process gaps and drive continuous improvements
- - Support standardization and scalability of finance processes
- - Contribute to automation and digitalization initiatives within the finance function
Requirements
What you’ll need- - 5+ years of professional experience in Finance Operations with focus on Travel & Expense or a closely related field
- - A formal degree is not required – what matters most is your proven hands-on experience and deep expertise in Travel & Expense.
- - Deep expertise in international Travel & Expense management and strong understanding of country-specific regulations
- - Proven experience in building, transforming, or scaling T&E processes, ideally in a project or implementation context
- - Hands-on experience with T&E tools (e.g., SAP Concur) and ERP systems (Oracle NetSuite is a plus)
- - Strong ability to translate complex policies into clear and actionable guidance
- - Excellent process mindset with the ability to design and implement scalable solutions
- - Hands-on, execution-driven approach with a high level of ownership
- - Strong communication and stakeholder management skills in an international environment
- - Fluent in German and English
