About the role

  • Create detailed product specifications for developments in close collaboration with Product Management, Design, Materials, Quality, CSR and Procurement
  • Independently design backpack prototypes and evaluate them against functional and company-specific requirements
  • Responsible for costing throughout the development process
  • Conduct regular product tests and analyses to improve backpacks in terms of workmanship, fit and material quality
  • Serve as point of contact for partners in Vietnam and visit production sites
  • Document all development steps for backpacks in the Centric PLM system to ensure transparency and traceability

Requirements

  • Degree in Product Development, Textile/Clothing Engineering, Sports Engineering or a comparable qualification
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in product development of backpacks or bags
  • Business-fluent English and good German skills
  • Proficient with MS Office, Adobe Illustrator and a PLM system (Centric); experience with a CAD system is a plus
  • Good basic understanding of textiles and production techniques, and strong hands-on skills
  • Structured, independent working style combined with a hands-on mentality
  • Team player who enjoys working in interdisciplinary teams
  • Passion for outdoor sports and sustainability
