About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own and maintain a prioritized product backlog, ensuring stories are always ready for sprint planning
- Write clear, detailed user stories and acceptance criteria that engineering teams can execute without ambiguity
- Identify opportunities to embed agentic workflows into the product — from intelligent automation of compliance checks to AI-assisted user experiences
- Actively use AI tools throughout the product development lifecycle — from discovery and story writing to sprint planning and release documentation — to move faster and raise the quality bar
- Actively participate in all Scrum ceremonies — sprint planning, daily standups, reviews, and retrospectives
- Collaborate with the PM team to break down strategic initiatives into actionable backlog items
- Validate completed work against acceptance criteria and manage sprint releases
- Gather and synthesize input from customer success, support, and stakeholders to inform backlog priorities
- Track and communicate sprint progress, surface blockers, and drive resolution quickly
- Maintain deep knowledge of the product and advocate for a consistent, high-quality user experience
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner in an agile/Scrum environment
- Proven B2B SaaS background — you understand enterprise customer needs and release cycles
- Proven delivery and commercialization of AI features in a SaaS product
- Proven transformation of product development processes to leverage agentic workflows for discovery, requirements definition, prototyping, engineering handoffs, and stakeholder management/communications
- Expert at writing user stories and acceptance criteria that development teams love
- Strong facilitation skills across Scrum ceremonies
- Comfortable working in sprint-based delivery with cross-functional remote teams
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage a complex backlog across multiple workstreams
- Clear communicator who can translate between business stakeholders and engineering teams
- Strong ability to secure engineering commitment and drive execution discipline without direct authority
- Familiarity with AWS or Salesforce is beneficial
- Experience in a high-growth startup environment is a plus
- Knowledge of the insurance industry, Insuretech, or experience in regulated industries is highly desired.
